A long time ago, I made a short video in which I did some challenges from my Wreck This Journal. It was actually the first video I did with my DSLR camera! Many months have passed since then and I finally decided to try my hand at some more wrecking with my friend Lian, who happened to have the travel edition of this book: Wreck This Journal Everywhere, made especially to be wrecked outside. We filmed this during a heatwave, but in spite of almost dying of heatstroke we had a great time Wrecking our Journals. ;)

I HIT 400 SUBSCRIBERS! It's really insane to me that four hundred people want to watch my videos twice a week.
As some of you may know by now, I make a little special video every time I gain another 100 subscribers. So far, I've done a gag reel, a giveaway, and a Q&A, but this time I thought it was time to give something back to the booktube community, and so I decided to do a recommendations video. Personally, I love discovering new channels through recommendations from others, so I figured I'd pay it forward and maybe help some people find cool new booktubers to subscribe to! All the channels I talk about in this video (as well as all the specific videos I mention) are listed in the description. It would mean a lot to me if you'd take some time to check them out! Since it's my birthday on the 18th, and I noticed that the theme for this month's Carrie's Book Club box was The Bone Season (one of my absolute favourite books of 2014), I decided to treat myself to it! As can be expected, I couldn't resist filming myself unboxing all the stuff inside. All the items in the box had something to do with clairvoyance and predicting the future. Take a look at the video to see what I received!
As some of you may know, because I talk about this every once in a while, my fellow Dutch booktubers and myself are in a Whatsapp group together. We regularly talk about our videos and other book-related stuff, and also about meet-ups. So far, though, this hasn't really happened on a big scale (some of us have met others, but there hasn't been a group get-together or anything like that).
However, Daphne from Daphne M and I were actually already friends before booktube, and so have already done two collabs in the past (one on her channel, and one on mine). We found out that the lovely Kate from katemeansgreat only lives about a 20-minute trainride away, and so immediately felt it was ridiculous that we hadn't ever actually seen each other in real life. And so we decided to change that! Kate came over to Leiden (where Daphne and I live) for a day. We gave her a small tour of the city, visited some bookshops, filmed a bunch of collabs, and then went out for ice cream. Both Kate and Daphne actually vlogged the experience (click here for Kate's, here for Daphne's)! On Daphne's channel, we played a game of 'Guess the Character', which was fun although I was REALLY bad at it. On Kate's channel, we did the 'Book Whisper Challenge' (which is a silly name, considering the challenge pretty much consists of shouting). For my channel, as you can see above, we filmed something completely different: I've really been getting into discussion videos lately, and so I couldn't resist the opportunity to do one of those with some other people present, so we could have an actual discussion! I do just want to express a small disclaimer here: obviously the three of us are by no means the ultimate authorities on booktube issues. We can only speak from our own experience as owners of three comparatively small booktube channels and it's completely possible that your experiences are totally different! It's Wednesday again, which means that another video just went up (I'm very proud of myself for sticking to the schedule!). I bought four books in June and managed to get one from a Little Free Library near my house!
Another month has passed, which means that it's time for another Wrap-up and TBR video! I read four books in June, of which I give brief summaries in this video. Of course I also tell you what I thought of them!
This video should probably be posted under reviews (since it is technically a review), and I might do still do that at some point. But it's also a nice little video, and now that the Owl Contest is happening, I want to give people the opportunity to see my videos without having to dig through several different pages. So here it is! Take a look, leave a comment, spot the owl... Whatever you want to do!
Back in April, I was tagged by Aria from BookGeekMovieFreak to do the HELP ME! Book Tag, which she created. I genuinely had a lot of fun making this video, and I hope some of it rubs off on you when you're watching it. Oh, and don't forget: this video marks the official beginning of Sprite's Owl Contest. It's on.
Remember that little owl I introduced a couple of videos ago? I asked for name suggestions, and actually ended up getting a few (thank you!). So I would hereby like to formally introduce you all to Mr Sprite Know-It-Owl. In this video, I make a little announcement about his purpose in my videos from now on, so if you would like to participate in a long-running contest, please take a look!
I was tagged a long time ago (somewhere in January or February) to do this tag, and I didn't get around to it until now. The main topic in this video, however, is the little discussion/rant in the middle. If you want to join in on the discussion, please leave a comment on Youtube!
